Corporate Social Responsibility of China Power Hub Generation Company (Pvt.) Limited

As a reliable and responsible enterprise, which is in Hub, one of the true desires of China Power Hub Generation Company (Pvt.) Limited (CPHGC) is the improvements for the Hub locals and for the province of Balochistan through its corporation social responsibility (CSR) activities.
The aim for CSR program is to increase long-term relationship and acquire trust of the local people through positive public relations and high ethical standards. CSR strategies in the forms of regular visits and meetings sessions directly with the local community assist the company to make a positive impact on the environment and stakeholders including consumers, employees, investors, communities, and others.

Current ongoing CSR program

In July 2016, CPHGC signed a MOU with a non-profit organization The Hunar Foundation Rashidabad campus in Tando Allahyar district, for provision of a one-year vocational training program for 30 local students from Hub-tehsil Gaddani, Balochistan. The training program took roots with the objective of finding a solution to the issues of unemployment for the youth through quality vocational training, they will be responsible for the arrangement of boarding, lodging and food for the selected (admitted) students throughout the duration of the course. Major traits for training include:
  • Electrical & Electronics
  • Welding & Fabrication
  • Plumbing
  • Mechanical Manufacturing and Motorcycle Maintenance
Institute has around 500 students enrolled, with a capacity to teach 700 students with the faculty and support staff of 34. CPHGC is providing complete financial support for this international standard vocational training that meets the expectations of the market, leading to employment or small business creation and eventually economic freedom and empowerment.

Benefits for the locals and Baluchistan

The province of Balochistan will receive a tremendous boost during the construction and the operation period of the project, which will last during the project life time. The project construction will provide opportunities through induction of skilled, semi-skilled and un-skilled workforce by Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors though sub-contractors during the construction period. It is expected that the project will bring at least 10,000 jobs to the local area. In addition, other economic activities around the Project Site are also likely to witness a major increase.

Future CSR fund

Apart from the ongoing CSR project, more projects will be coming forward as the time passes. Every year after COD some portion of the company’s annual profit will be reserved as CSR fund to make advancements in the surrounding area in Balochistan in terms of Infrastructure, Medicare, Livelihood, Education, Environment and Employment of the locals.
Various CSR programs for local community are under development by CPHGC. The company will join hands with people and enterprises in Hub for the betterment of the locals and province of Balochistan.
